Elizabeth Donatelli has spent her career writing, creating, and producing compelling, award-winning visual stories. She spent ten years as a television news reporter. From there she went on to produce both television and digital multimedia content as well as run a prestigious training center for aspiring journalists.
In 2020, Elizabeth linked up with industry-leader CDI Ads to write, produce, and place 125+ digital political ads, which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and garnered more than a million views.
Previously, Elizabeth used her media skills at the National Journalism Center where she recruited and trained 50 college-aged reporters each year. She developed 200+ curriculum hours, coordinated speakers, and planned events for the aspiring journalists.
Elizabeth has always been a storyteller. She served as the senior show producer for a digital investigative series, where she oversaw research, field producing, and post producing for two seasons. The team won various awards including Best Documentary at the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards and the Film Heals Award at the Manhattan Film Festival. Before that, she was the senior producer at Insight Visual Media, where she wrote, shot, edited, and produced an award-winning series that aired on the Sportsman Channel. Elizabeth also launched her own video production company, Seven Shots Productions, which creates videos for companies, nonprofits, and unscripted television shows.
She spent the previous ten years as a political and general assignment television journalist reporting in Las Vegas, Louisville (KY), and Charlottesville (VA) where she was nominated for nine Emmys and received three honors from the Associated Press and nine from the Society of Professional Journalists.
The Washington, D.C.-native attended the University of Southern California where she graduated with a broadcast journalism degree from the Annenberg School of Communications and minor in critical approaches to leadership. She has since been appointed to the USC Annenberg Alumni Advisory Council where she has served since 2018.
Throughout her career, Elizabeth has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, NBC’s Nightly News, and the Weather Channel, among other networks. She has also had the pleasure of guest-lecturing at various colleges including the University of Southern California, University of San Francisco, and George Mason University.
Fun Fact: Elizabeth has traveled to 44 states and 30 countries, cliff jumping in the Philippines and scuba diving in Honduras.
